Machhapuchhre is also known as “Fish Tail Mountain”. Fish Tail Mountain is a sacred peak in the Hindu religion. It has been believed that lord Shiva lives in the peak of the mountain Machhapuchhre. It lies 24 km due north of Pokhara. The view of the machhapuchhre is so mystifying.
It has been restricted for mountain climb in there. Western mountaineers, particularly the British, who had conquered the big Kahuna of no-humans-allowed places–Mt. Everest–in 1953. while after king of Nepal has asked to respect Nepalese religion and not to set for the climbing in machhapuchhre.
Nepal being a tourism country it also heavily depends on it for economy. The incomes and opportunities of the local people will be increased if Fishtail is opened.
